About the author
As you may have guessed, my name's Ryan and this page is for all of you who wanted to get to know a little about me, the guy behind Paul-Heaton.co.uk, though there's not much to tell.
I became a fan of The Beautiful South, and of Paul Heaton's unique voice in 2001 (around October, if memory serves). Ironically the first song of their's that
I heard was their first single, Song For Whoever. I was instantly intrigued and wanted to hear more.
I went about snapping up copies of their albums left right and centre. I became even more enthralled with Heaton's impressive vocal abilty after being introduced to
to Housemartins by my mother, (she played me a live version of Caravan of Love, their number 1 hit) and sought out their material as well.
After purchasing all the Beautiful South and Housemartins albums I could find, I was delighted when I discovered Paul's solo material, Fat Chance. After that I resigned myself to
digging up any clips of Paul that I could find on the internet. Then I had a rare stroke of luck.
I consider myself immensly fortunate, as in May 2006 I was able to see The Beautiful South live in Portsmouth! To any Heaton fans who haven't been so lucky, I feel deeply sorry for you, as
I'm sure anyone who has been to one of their gigs will agree with me when I say that it was a totally awesome event! My only regret was that I was not able to see them live again, due to the band's
split in January 2007.
Since then my focus has been developing my skills in computing and web design, the result being Paul-Heaton.co.uk! I hope you enjoy what you find, and I thank you for taking the time to read my little story.
